What sampler does everyone use?

Post by William » Mon May 09, 2005 11:58 pm

Ok...first off I know about and like Simpler. The problem is that simpler cannot import multisamples which is what I need a sampler for. I also own Kontakt 1.5 and I am finished with trying to get it to work correctly. There are clicks and pops from some libraries, others only partially load, etc. So...what other sampler should I look at to use with Live 4? Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Thanks for the response but I need something that will handle the major formats (gigasampler, etc.)

Sorry to hear about your experiences with Kontakt 1.5 :(

I am a happy Kontakt 2 user. Very very very awesome sampler.

Hi,
I am using Intakt and the NN-XT from reason 2.5. Both work perfectly.

hello,

I have been using Kontakt since version 1. Since I don't see a need of upgrading to Kontakt 2, I'll stay with the current Kontakt 1.x version, which suits me fine. It runs absolute flawlessly on my both Macs (Dual 1.8 G5 and even on my Pismo, if I am aware of it's limits), it ran also on my old G4/500 without any trouble. So I guess there must be sth wrong with your system.

yeah, same here, i've been using k1.5 quite a lot and pushing it very hard. now i'm on k2 and it works great too.

you should try to find out why kontakt doesn't work on your system. you'll have a hard time finding a better sampler.

Do you have enough ram? Clicks and pops are a system issue usually not the samplers fault.

Wow. Judging from these responses I guess I have another problem. I have 512mb rambus ram. Maybe this isn't enough?

About that Kontakt sampler... I was told by a few people that I would need a better computer of what I have now to run Kontakt properly...

WIN xp Pent 4, 1.8ghz, 1gig of ram.

would that be enough... I know what they recommend..

Is there any Kontakt users that have a similiar setup?

thanks

i used kontakt on a P4 w/ 2GHz, 1MB of RAM, and it was fine. so i guess you'll be ok. i'm talking here about kontakt 1.5.3
i recently bought and installed kontakt 2 (that is on my laptop with 512MB of RAM-see sig), and i had to buy an extra 256MB to get it working (i got warning messages and crackles, even with patches that were fine with k153)

kontakt2 has got some really nice features (especially the GUI), but is much more demanding for your system.
