Ableton You Should Give Something Back To The Loyal Users!
Re: Ableton You Should Give Something Back To The Loyal Users!
Companies once they get you locked into a system or way of working believe you will not leave so don’t have to offer loyal customers anything. When you think about car insurance is a prime example. There is no loyalty if you have been with them for 1 year or 30 years.
For companies it’s about getting new customers to use the product and the same with Ableton. But don’t moan because all software companies are the same. As a loyal Cakewalk Sonar user until last year I got jack all for starting with Sonar 3 apart from having to pay £100+ each time to upgrade.

Re: Ableton You Should Give Something Back To The Loyal Users!
please ableton :
i dont want new effects racks , samples , t shirts ,stickers and things like that but a true real present after this year of live 8's crashes , beta testing ,projects lost ,troubles in studio and in gigs etc..
ONE YEAR after... finally we almost have the product that we expect to have at the purchase .
and this amp plug would be a nice present but if it wouldnt be ONLY for people who have bought the suite ??? very disappointing
i ve upgraded live since my live 2 lite m-audio's edition so i think i have spend same or more money than a guy who has bought live suite and all of that for some effects rack which use this amp plug and to give me the desire to buy it ?? ! whoaa thank you very much ...
please ableton look at NATIVE INSTRUMENTS's generosity with the new reaktor and battery 3's free updates please !!!
ps: for me its more useful to have a amp plug than the bridge so what can i do with that now ?
with all my love

Dear Nis (Ableton Headquarter)
Thanks you for the response. I am sorry that i can't write that i am happy with the policy of Ableton. But i will try to explain here what i mean.
When i pay for something then i really do think it should work. Ableton have been charging me for "Buggy" updates since i started to use live. I do understand that sometimes something can go wrong, but not everytime? and not over 6 years. Why does the registred users have to pay for your companys bad intern policy? I really don't get it. Why are you charging money for an update that are more than just buggy? Why does the users have to pay for an update, and then have to beta test it for your company when they actually did pay for a working update? I don't wanna pay for version 9 and then have to wait until you guys sort all the bugs out, this should be done before you charge money for it i think. Heres a little example, i am also a registred Reason user since version 1 and i have never posted one post on their forums because it just works, and i do pay any update without complaining because i get stabillity and a really good product, so that's fair. If Ableton had the same policy i would never write posts like this one. And yes i really think that its time for Ableton to give something usefull back to the people who have been living with all thoose issues, and endless beta testings for years, they did buy a product which actually has a good concept but it seems that 3rd party features and other issues are more important than me and other users who thinks and feels like me. Why not give the the longtime users who have been dealing with all thoose issues over years, a free plugin for example as a little "thank you" present for Ableton's bad policy over the years? I would think that's fair to the users who have been supporting Ableton so long, and yes the AMP is surely a step in the right direction, but i don't need the AMP, so for me it would be much more interresting to get the choice too choose one of the existing plugins avaiable, like Sampler, Collision or Operator, that would be really nice move. Ableton should find a way how something like this could be done in a fair way, so that nobody feels their left out.
Kind Regards

Re: Ableton You Should Give Something Back To The Loyal Users!
why would you use software that doesn't work?
get your money back and use a different DAW. that's how it works, if you're lucky.

Dear Tonedeft
Please Please Please, i know that you are against my post and my thinking, and that's okay for me. But you should learn to accept and understand other peoples matters, even if they aint thinking like you do, you should do yourself and others that favor. You ain't working for Ableton, and you would surely save a lot of energy for music making if you didn't post negative replys to every post on this forum.

Re: Ableton You Should Give Something Back To The Loyal Users!
answer the question. my point is perfectly reasonable.
if I go to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on software I'd try the demo first to see how it works. if it didn't work I wouldn't buy it. if ANY product I bought had poor performance I'd ask for my money back. I sure as hell would not ask that company to give me free stuff. why in the world would you want more software from a company that gave you bad software? that makes no sense. I'm not defending Ableton I just think you're acting like a child.
I post negative replies to every post? that's just a stupid thing to write.

that was lost in translation. my use of the word "shit" was a pronoun, not an adjective. replace "shit" with "stuff" in that sentence.
you put up with buggy software and because of that you want more buggy software??
an example... for me Creative Labs have pissed me off with crappy products now I steer clear of them. every chance I get to uninstall their software I take it. I would NEVER bug them for free software.
oh yeah, I've always wondered how you chose your screen name.

Re: Ableton You Should Give Something Back To The Loyal Users!
I've spent hundreds of pounds over the years on Cubase, Sonar, FL Studio, and various plug-ins and guess what? They all had problems and frustrated me. So, I sold those licences that I could and bought Live.
In 3 years of using Live both at home and gigging, it has never crashed on me once. I do have some CPU spiking issues, but honestly I think that is down to my crappy three year old Vaio laptop. The only other software I've used that is as stable as Live is Renoise.
So, if you are having problems with Live like I had with other software, why not do what I did and sell the problem software? Then you wont need to be frustrated anymore.
