Playback position moving by keyboard forward/backward ?

In cubase you can move the playback position in the arrangement forward and backward by keyboard during the playback or when you stopped - without setting locators.
f.e. the "1" for back and "3" for forward on the keyboard. Like scrolling on a cd-player - not skipping.

Checked the manual - but can't find that possibility.

Does it also exist in Live to do that by keyboard (keyboard of the pc)?

Or is setting locators the only possibility to move fast by keyboard in the arrangement?

The lack of fast forward/rewind is what has been holding me back to upgrade or use
Ableton since many years. Can't understand what they are waiting for. Meanwhile I am really happy using Logic 9 with all key commands you can think of. But, the longer they wait, the more money I will save not upgrading.

the user remote scripts offer that possebility and better reaction on start commands too...

an intersting question why such functions are not accesible without the script or behve inferior with direct screen assignments..

another of the little detail problems...

however.. doing an modified script for the external controler of choice is a not too difficult task..
looks a bit complikated on first sight but its actually easy once you try it.

on the negatv side you need an extrenal controle to acces FFw/ReW functionality

I am a musician, not a DJ! I don't want to be use an external controller. Honestly, I have tested several controllers and the computer keyboard is superior when you have all key commands at your fingertips, like in Logic.

maybe you can trick the remote script to accept a keystroke to midi software as external controler..

I agree that it sucks that there is no standard transport buttons on screen or at least as key commands..

maybe ther are some hidden commands? i dont know..

I use one of theese cheap korg nano controls ..they are pretty handy and give a set of transport buttons you can easily assign via the remote script...

plus 9 knobs..9 faders and 18 buttons ...
