Ok, but beatmatching/mixing with turntables/mixer and Live/M4L is what I want.
The official Bridge mix video is the coolest electronic music performing concept in the world IMHO :)

I'm sure some people will get some use out of it.

But it was like 800 years between the announcement of the collaboration and when it was actually released, and we found out midway through it is the exact opposite of what a lot of people were hoping for, encoded media control and DJ type functionality within Live, not clip launching in Serato...which presents a lot more limitations.

Hater hatin'.

Not yet it's not, I have been using the bridge all day today and in my opinion, it's utter fail after a half year of hype. Cant drag the record controlling Ableton backwards, digital artifacts up the yin and the yang if you nudge or slow the record. Crashing Ableton...
Test it yourself, then be as disappointed as I am. I was better off the way I was before, recording my songs as aif and just loading them into Serato.
The only thing that might be useful is recording your Serato mix as an ALS file to tweak later in live.
and Traktor still OWNS the piss out of Serato when scratching, Serato digi farts if you try and scratch slow or do a vinyl wind-down. But Traktor as dj Q-bert has shown in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTj-L7EKCL8 , can handle slow control vinyl movements and still sound like vinyl.

I'm half tempted to sell my first gen SL1 for $1 and switch to Traktor, I want to scratch and Serato fails at doing so and now it has added to it's failure with this over hyped gimmick/processor hog.
I am a legit user of Ableton live 8 suite and still using the first SL1 box I got when Serato first came out, paid in full, APC40 and other Akai controllers. I have stood by, defending both and now I just feel dirty and in need of a few thousand showers after the couple thousand I've invested.
I still love Ableton for production and performance but I'm swiftly starting to hate Serato.
I sure hope they step it up real soon.

Still sort of irks me that Ableton went this route instead of implenting features that people using Live to DJ with for years have been requesting for a long time. We have over 21,000 registered users at AbletonLiveDJ.com, surely that's a pretty sizeable user base to take requests from? Has to be bigger than the Serato users who have the hardware already to take advantage of the Bridge fully?

What's worse is that some of the few DJ friendly features that made Live nice for DJing are slowly being removed, like the timeline in clip view and the easy clip zooming (without the RSI inducing Shift holding constantly) for instance.

They should have busted out The Bridge in the same way they just busted out Amp, a little surprise "here you go". Would have gotten a way warmer reception and the expectations wouldn't be as high.
