Holy MacPro & 8.2 Tech Support lotsa of stuff going bonkerz

Post by benjahzen » Fri Sep 24, 2010 9:41 pm

Wow 8.2 looks really cool... the new additions and what not, but personally I've faced a considerable amount of unexpected ostacles!

I'm running MacPro Intel... lots of memory yadadadad... up to date most current Snow Leopard....

initially after first install.... the program wouldn't even recognize my VST folder! Crazy huh...

Once I moved stuff around and got it to work (took a while actually) i was excited to get to work....

welll.... crash crash crash crash all over the map... is it me? any one else having these experiences....

I'm using apc40 & mpd32 with axiom 25 - older classic model... I'm up to date on my drivers etc...

any help would be appreciated.... i don't know what's been up but I've been having all sorts of crazy issues since well... Live 8. I've had lots of library is malformed or disk is malformed stuff... I've created three new libraries with only live stuff, and still I'm getting all this nonsense.

Should I entirely re-partition my harddrive?

I'm totally open and entirely appreciative of any constructive feedback/criticism.

One thing I know that seems to trip up the system is I go back and forth between using Native INstrument's Kore 1 controller as audio interface and the Audio 8DJ. I'm at the point though where if I switch I shut the maching down, do a fresh power up, and then plug it in.

Didn't have to do that before, but whatever...

Also, i have a powered USB hub ... sound cards go into machine .... this is what I've always heard is best. I have two external hard drives connected to. One is 1TB and powered... I store my itunes on there... no sessions. Sessions and samples are on an additional internal drive. Another is a Western Digital 500gb passport... I've updated all of those firmwares and even gone as far as getting the monolingual app or whatever... i run onyx... permession... yadayadayadal....

Tons of stuff on my computer so an entirely new install sounds appealing but I am much more enticed by the idea of sorting this out without installing for daysssssssssss.....

Anyway thanks for your time... I've been sending in my bug reports. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Have an awesome day!
