I really like the Ableton 'Backbone' reverb effect and use it a lot for our recordings. .....i was just wondering if anyone had any idea of any effects that are similar that could be used for gigs.
I'm already using 2 laptops live and think that if i tried to get vocals put through another one, the sound engineer would hate me and also it's a lot of effort for only a reverb effect. I know that reverb can be added to the vocals during soundcheck but it's that specific amount of reverb i'd like to have on and from experience when playing live. Getting a decent length soundcheck is often difficult, let alone trying to tweak reverb effects on vocals.
The other idea was to perhaps use a guitar effects pedal but i've tried it with an Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb and it doesn't really create the same sound or quality.
Does anyone know of any guitar pedals or effects that could be used live that would create something similar? Or just any other advice that could be helpful?
What sounds like Ableton 'Backbone' reverb?

actually any contemporary multi fx device should be able to achive better results than the internal ableton reverb.. if you need to model a certain ableton preset you need to program that device..
the second hand market is full with cheap devices.. lexicon lxp-1.. yamaha rev-7 or rev-5
for example.
ther is nothing special about that backbone reverb except the pretty long predelay..
what actually would allow to do it with the computer live on stage.. yo just need to lower the predelay time than to adjust for the latency

Ah right, thanks for your advice '3phrase'. I'll have a look into that.
