Live 2.01 PC Plays Clips Even When Tansport is Stopped!!!!!!

Post by beerbybike » Sun Feb 16, 2003 9:01 pm

Please Help!
I'm nearing completion of a very, very important project and I'm experiencing what appear to be extremely odd file corruption problems with Live 2.01 under Windows 98 with a Fronteir Design WaveCenterPCI Card. The range of the problems (which all started at the same time) is complex. Basically, Live will continue to play some tracks in the Arranger window completely independently of the state of the transport buttons. Tracks will continue playing despite the fact that "stop" has been pushed on both the transport and the clip level and the transport isn't moving. Tracks will fail to play although they are properly enabled, etc. I have tried a huge number of experiments in terms of placing audio on new tracks, deleting the apparently corrupt tracks, jiggling individual clip settings, testing for corruption of individual audio files, pasting tracks into new files, looking for driver or Rewire problems, etc. Many of these experiment cause audio to stop completely or cause the program to crash. Nothing helps. I've been trying to download 2.02, but your Windows download is currently corrupt!!!! This is creating a very serious problem for me with my client, and I urgently need your help. I am attaching my log files, for diagnostic use.
Thanks in advance,
Michael Weinberg

Hi beerbybike,

I don't think that the download is corrupt. Maybe It's again the problem with the internet explorer cache.
Please see this thread http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2025

I had a problem with this too, but once I cleared my Internet Cache it worked like a charm.

You may have to do this a couple times if the download fails again.

good luck!

Whoah, let me get this straight... Ableton Live can playback files regardless of the state of the transport buttons becuase of the "internet cache"? Do I have that right??

Uhm, how does THAT happen then exactly??? 8O
