Help with Live Audio Via Skype.

Post by a lone sideline » Mon Sep 27, 2010 7:45 pm

Basically, my friend and I realized recently that we could share our screens while using skype. He would like me to give him some Ableton pointers etc and its all fine and dandy except he cant hear my Ableton output. Now this is obvious because skype uses the mic input of my Soundcard and not my master output.

I discovered that Soundflower was the way to go, that was if i was using a MAC.. but to no avail Im a pc guy.

Ive searched high and low for a "soundflower for pc", and came accross a program called "Jack". It seems to be the ticket but its so flipping confusing to set up.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has any ideas.

I simply want to be able to work on an Ableton session and have my friend follow along on skype using its screen share function.

Thanks for any help, I'm sure this question will be sitting here alone for the next 10 years, lol.

yes, it will, because this is the lounge. what we do here is snappy repartee', multiple entendre and erudite bawdyness.

Oh, and random, unrelated pictures:

if your control panel app for your internal soundcard device allows you to choose your stereo output as a recording input, then you may be able to set that as your default recording device.
UTENZIL a tool... of the muse.
