I did a search but couldn't find a match, so here goes:
When I record midi notes (a riff/drums/synth line) in a looped clip I run into a strange bug: any note that is still active/not released when the looppoint arrives... turns into a ONE HUGE note, overwriting any notes in that key I played before.
This is pretty annoying since it destroys the sequence. I'm on 8.1.3 Suite. Doesn't matter if I use Live instruments or VST instruments. My midi wiring is fine and it only happens when recording midi notes into a looped clip.
Anyone else have this?

This sounds like a bug to me!
As a workaround, can you undo the last action to see if it gives you back the state of the clip before the last pass? Also, just a hunch, but is "OVR" enabled? Try disabling that and see what happens. I don't think anything will, but I'm curious.

the problem seems to have gone since i posted here. Its really odd as i've had this problem for so long & as soon as i post on here about it it just doesn't happen any more. Only thing i can think of is i changed the way i had midi setup but i really don't think that solved the problem.

My experience with undoing the last action only partially helps and disabling OVR doesnt help either. Ultimately its annoying but easy to work around by just disabling looping of the clip, recording the MIDI notes and then turning looping back on.

Comforting to know I'm not the only one with this problem. I have only just installed 8.1.5 so haven't checked if it's fixed. Am, however, not holding my breath since it wasn't mentioned in the changelog.

I thought i had resolved it but no it still there. Im pretty sure this was a problem even in 7 but i just put up with it.
Anyone know of a way to recreate the problem 100%?

I think its normal to overwrite all notes in this key. When u hold down the key, your keyboard doesn't send note off message so that's why it goes huge.
