looping question, no doubt absolutely moronic

Hi all

I have a newbie looping question, probably really easy, but I can't get it to work.

I have an AIFF file of a beat loop/break, about 6 sec long.
I want this to loop, so I can throw it into a mix. After dropping it into the simpler (right, no?) how do I get it to play for pre-listening and setting I/O, and how do I get it to loop inside a project? Do I nees MIDI?

After trying for an hour, I'm lost.

dude.... spend 10 minutes reading the manual... or do the tutorial.

I haven't used simpler.... but for a loop.... have you tried just dropping it in
as a clip?

The article seems about right. Just drop the sample into a slot on the grid. If it is a well behaved sample, Live will do the time stretching automatically for you to match it to whatever tempo you have set - and set it to loop automatically.

I guess I was making it way too difficult, using Simpler and MIDI.

Thanks to the community, and back to work (and later on tonight PLAY with Live) for me!
