8.1.5 crash on mp3 browse

Hi,

I've got the 'launchpad edition' of 8.1.5, and when browsing for mp3's Ableton quickly crashes. Sometimes mp3's will play (using the preview/headphone icon), other times the whole app freezes.

I've sent 3 bug reports in a row to the team in case that helps but I'm not impressed as this is an app for 'live', but I'm not giving up!

Perhaps windows 'not responding' just means it is doing some complicated warp calculation on the mp3 and I should leave it longer before forcing a close?

Just wondered if this was a common issue, I'm trying to re-produce it, but so far just selecting and auditioning a few random mp3 seems to do it.

Hi everyone,

Is anyone else using 8.1.5 having the app stop-responding on windows when working with mp3s? The stability is making me avoid mixing mp3s but I'd like to know if I'm alone on this one in which case I'll try to dig into my own system a little more.

Have you tried updating to version 8.2 of Live?

Just downloaded it, installed, ran for the first time and it got 'not responding' mid way through the library scan..nice.

Ps. I closed the program, re-started it, and the library complete worked. I then sent the crash report to the '[email protected]' email addy as request.
