Automap / 25 SL MKii Issues.

Hi all.

I just bought a Novation 25 SL MKii controller. When I got it I installed Automap 3 from the disc. I think went to update it to Automap 3.5. After it updated it told me I needed to update my MIDI O/S, which I did, then I got the "Need MIDI O/S" error. I bought a MIDI to USB cable and forced the OS to install. I was able to put in the OS file, but not the DAT file. After that it turns on fine and Ableton recognizes it. But I have ran into more problems.

Sometimes when I turn on my computer, turn on my SL MKii, then start Ableton Live. Both Ableton Live and Automap freeze up and I have to restart the programs to get it to work.

Then while I am in Live, when I load up some VSTs (that come with Live) it seems that Automap doesn't correctly assign the knobs, faders, etc correctly. Some knobs controll random knobs in the VST and some knobs do nothing. It seems like it completely assigns then at random.

I followed the set up for the SL MKii for Live, but I am just worried that my SL might still be buggy because I had to force the OS update. If someone could do a step by step for me on how to correctly get this set up I would greatly appreciate it. I will give my email and cell number to anyone who wants to help me. Also, upon purchasing the SL MKii, I was led to believe that I would get Automap PRO... but I only got an ativation number for the BASS thing.

- Novation SL MKii 25-key MIDI controller connected via USB (no MIDI cables)
- Automap 3.5
- Windows 7 64-bit laptop with 4GB RAM, 2.2Ghz dual core

I'd suggest calling Abe support and review all of your midi input & output settings in Setup. I was having strange problems until I learned that I had assigned part of my SLMk2's to the wrong port. The switch made all the difference and everything works just right now.

There were some changes made to the Live setup in Automap 3.5. From the Automap server HUD you can choose DAW setup guide. There is a step by step guide there for Live.
