Akai Midi setting APC40

Post by Robbertsen » Mon Sep 27, 2010 10:27 am

I am working on set up a live set in Ableton Live 8 with my APC40. I have an effectrack on the master containing a EQ Three. I have a macro associated with the gain low. This all works perfectly.
Now i want to limit the rotator on my APC so it don't go over the 0db. How can i do this?

I don't think you can, unless you use something like APC40_22 Midi Remote Scripts Mappings (http://remotescripts.blogspot.com) and are willing to dive into Python
sigs are out of fashion

if i understand correctry wat you want - you don't do that on apc, you do that in midi mappings. enter midi map mode, find the parameter you have mapped and set its range

This is the what makes the APC40 one of the worst purchases I made. No editor! And once you "MIDI MAP" your bound to it!

simply map on banks you don't use. keep bank 1 for macros following tracks and other banks for fixed stuff. i'm also using 8 pans for custom knobs for easy access.

Thank you for your help. It was very simple to do. Switch to midi map mode and you see in the left upper corner a list the macro mappings (i grouped some effects).

Except if you know how to map in live, 'cause it's really quick & easy to do.

not if you want the controls to act any other way than they've been hardwired to
