no problem
I did state my opinion, but before I moved on, a bunch of cunts got smart with me.
Read through it, you over reacted when someone pointed out OP asked specifically for hardware suggestions and you went with software.
And please don't tell me what i would or wouldnt have done. That is totally presumptuous, not to mention pretentious (again).
WTF are you talking about? Don't tell me there aren't on virtually ANY synth a shit ton of vanilla patches that could be made by any kind of synth?
Kettle calling the pot black here, you're the one assuming anybody who doesn't post that they love drum and bass or post their own tracks is incapable of talking about heavy distorted bass, which is about as presumptuous as it gets.
Its great that you know 90% that its massive... wonderful guesswork. But you just did something that I got flamed for... Stating that it is possible to get angry bass without hardware.
No, again you got mildly jazzed for being the guy in the thread that suggests software without even qualifying it. What I'm jazzing you about is the fact you suggested an FM synth for this sort of bass, which is IMO silly considering
OP has the soft synth most commonly used for this sort of bass sound regardless of genre etc.
Seriously? dude has Massive, it's very arguably the best synth for this sort of thing, and you suggest FM, that's all I'm on about, and read again, I never said it didn't sound cool, just that I prefer Massive for this sound.
I already told the Op what his best bet is for attaining the true sound of that era of dnb in hardware form. EMU6400 Ultra/Samples/distortion.
Just sold one last year. I needed the $, but those filters are something else for sure.
Have fun with your step sequencers.

I will continue to talk about whatever I want to, whenever I want to, regardless of what some DJ who makes commercial pop drum and bass ten years after it was relevant thinks.
