delay from midi controller to sound....?

I cant get my midi controller synced with ableton. I play something and hit a key on my controller the note wont be played through my speakers until like 1/2 second later.. any suggestions????

Check latency and read manual.

It's advisable to put the subject matter in the title of your post, so that people can see what it's about without having to click and read the whole post.

You haven't explained very well, but it seems to me that it's nothing to do with sync at all, but sound card latency.

If you're not using a decent sound card then you will experience a delay between your actions and the results.

okay..i apologize for my ignorance. First time posting anything on here..forgot to put the subject. Thanks for that advice.
But I guess the soundcard thing makes more sense.. I checked everything in the program multiple times. Everything seemed to be set up right. Thanks for responding.

check your soundcard drivers, make sure they are ASIO?

If you need it use this, for low latency

Also. set the latency compensation in the Audio settings
