newb impulse ?

I just started working with ableton and when trying the create a beat form the sidebar tutorial with impulse the signal isint reaching the mixer chanel and no audio what am i missing here?

Hi, do you get any audio at all - e.g. from the Setting Up Audio I/O lesson?

Some things to check:

-Make sure you have samples loaded in Impulse. You can test this by pressing the "play" buttons in impulse, and seeing if any audio signal is going out (even if you can't hear it).

-Enable Input/Output view. To where is the audio going on the Impulse track?

-Open Preferences->Audio, and check to make sure that you have the right audio output device selected. If you're on Windows, you'll want to use ASIO if you can.

-Make sure you've set up a MIDI clip on the Impulse track. If you want to hear a loop, make sure you have a MIDI clip set to go first.

Yes there is a signal in the instrument panel but no signal to the midi clip? The audio is set to a direct x driver?

I'm not sure what you mean by no signal to the MIDI clip? Is the MIDI clip on the Impulse Track?

Also, are you seeing any response in your track or master level meters when you play the clip?

The clip is on a midi track and Im not getting any audio/any levels even though theres a signal.

Would you post a screenshot of your setup? Please make sure you have In/Out view enabled, and that you are in Session view, with the chain for the Impulse track visible.
