booooooo
I've had a wacom intuous for some years and I liked it a lot... until I got my PB with OS X. Wacom have refused to make drivers for OS X and so even if you have the Griffin Imate to connect the thing up it won't run.
boo friggin hoo. Anybody wanna write a driver?

What are you talking about? My Intuos has an OS X driver, it's on their website.telekom wrote:I've had a wacom intuous for some years and I liked it a lot... until I got my PB with OS X. I use it for ergonomics, for one. Long sessions hurt my hand (I've had CTS surgery in the past, like most drummers), but holding a pen-shaped stylus is a lot easier on the hand.vandeloow wrote:in witch way do you use the intuos? only mouse actions? i'm very intersted to buy a wacom table, but i still don't know witch one...can u tell us something about your workflow with the table? thanxsmcconaghy wrote:Wacom Intuos works like a charm on my system - wouldn't want to work without it anymore.
I use it for everything - mouse actions, drawing automation curves, more exact waveform editing - literally everything. I even use it when I'm online.
I did have a Graphire before I got my intuos, and I'd recommend the Intuos, it's resolution is much higher.
false hope...
From the Wacom website
"Driver 4.79-2 RC for Mac OS X
This driver includes support for the USB versions of Intuos2, Intuos, Graphire2, Graphire, PenPartner, Cintiq 18SX, Cintiq 15X and PL-400-500. Note: ADB and serial tablets are not and will not be supported on OS X. This driver does not support Graphire3 tablets. For Graphire3 download the appropriate driver version."
Hi mcconaghy,
I should've been clearer... my Intuous tablet is one of the older ADB versions, not a native USB tablet. They seem pretty definitive about it in the quote above. Makes me sad, mad and very unglad.
So, anybody wanna write a driver?

Re: false hope...
I think you're out of luck, because as far as I know ADB isn't even natively supported under OS X. I could be wrong there, though. You might want to check in with Darwin development groups, or ask on the Apple Developers boardtelekom wrote:From the Wacom website

For a super old unsupported tablet? Don't see that happening. Kinda like wanting Live to run on an old mac classictelekom wrote:From the Wacom website

However they do have ADB to USB connectors out there. This may help. I don't know if all the commands will translate on the mac but it may be a way to extend it's use.
3ghz Pentium 4 (Prescott), XP Sp2, 1gig Ram, Dual Monitor with Matrox Millenium, MOTU Traveler, Event EZ8 Adat card. Also IBM THinkpad t40 1.6 1 gig ram

yeah I tried it - I've got a Griffin Imate but it's the actual drivers that don't exist. So it's kaput. sigh.

INTERESTING News...
I just found out that some clever, kind person IS writing a driver for ADB Wacom tablets!
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/d ... magic.html
This guy has a beta version of his driver for serial tablets. He's working on an ADB version too. So if anyone else out there is like me looking for a driver to run an old Wacom ADB tablet, click above...
