Re: problems 8.2.1 mac osx leopard
i'm running live 8.2.1 with os 10.5.8 and must admit that i've been having glitching/audio drop outs alot too. admittedly i'm relatively new to the software but from many calls and forum searches it seems it's my macbook processor which is the problem..the cpu meter rarely goes over 30% but still get glitches/drop outs especially when arming tracks.
i've been able to minimise the problem but reducing the number of third party plug ins and running all samples from an external drive but i still haven't found a way of eliminating the problem...

What are the specs of your machines? I am currently d/l 8.2.1 on my MBP5,1 from late 2008 with 10.6.4 and have been experiencing slight glitches with Live 8.1.x sometimes already (not using plugins and only a few multitracks consisting of only a few small samples) so I am not waiting for even more.
Re: problems 8.2.1 mac osx leopard
I had experienced problems with Leopard and 8.1.3 until I switched to Snow Leopard. Now running 8.2 and Snow Leopard with no problem.
During my troubleshooting sessions I discovered that Leopard 10.5.8 brings in a new FW Audio framework, possibly the cause of incompatibility with some audio cards, including mine.
Snow Leopard obviously (at least for me - FCA202 FW Audio) brings in a fixed FW Audio framework.
Since then no problems at all. So keep in mind that Apple is always changing FW Specs under the hood and it does not matter if you have a multi-million dollar Audio Interface or a retail 100 $ one, if the driver (even CoreAudio) was tested on a previous FW Framework...

Allright, sounds good, I am currently installing the folder in the application folder, after booting for the first time I can throw out the older 8.1.3 (1.01 GB) and 8.1.5 (478 MB) folders, right? As the 8.2.1 folder seems to be 1.78 GB I don't think I'll be losing any sample data when doing so
I have the Boxed version with all the packs.
