VST?!!!!! I cant finad any that will work for mac

i have been surfing around trying to find a good vst to use with ableton but all of them seem to be for windows and the few i have found for mac dont seem to work

Buy a PC, they just work.

There are definitely more free VSTs out there for PC, but there are plenty for mac too. You have to check before hand that there is a mac version. dll's don't work in mac.
You need a .VST file (or a .component file for audio units)

Go to KVR and search the free plug-in database, but here's a few:
-Crystal synth
-Togu Audio Line products (lots of synths and effects)
-Automat (audio unit only)
etc.
