L8.2.1 - left it untouched for an hour or so, come back and it has stopped responding to the attached midi keyboard (still visible in preferences). Tried power-cycling the keyboard, no change.
Quit Live, takes about 2 minutes, spinning beach ball, 100% CPU usage according to iStat.
Restart Live, takes about 2-3 minutes, spinning beach ball, 100% CPU usage the whole time. Still no midi input possible.
Midi Track In indicator lights up when playing the midi keyboard, but no input fed through to the track and also entering midi-map mode, no midi messages received.
Using MIDI Monitor utility shows incoming midi messages to the laptop ok, so am assuming it's a Live problem.
Config: OS X 10.6.4, MacBook Pro, FW: MOTU Ultralight, USB: M-Audio Keystation 61ES

How big is the set that you're working with?

Re: L8.2.1 - slow start-up, 100% CPU, no midi input
I'm having similar probs, but just the 100% CPU issue... Tracks that I've started in 8.1.5 I think it was, the CPU was sitting happily at 20/30%, in 8.2.1 the same tracks are crackling and clipping...
I have a core 7, 6 gig, 2TB raid system running windows 7 pro and before installing 8.2.1 could run shit loads of synths without bouncing down or freezing, now with 8.2.1 is clipping and CPU usage it through the roof
Any idea's peeps?

Original set that I used and then left for an hour or so: one audio track containing one instance of Kontakt Player 2. No effects on track or returns. Limiter on master. Nothing in arrangement, no clips in session. That's it.David Abravanel wrote:How big is the set that you're working with?
Default template set, loaded on restart: one audio track, one midi channel. Both empty, no effects on the tracks or returns. Limiter on master. Nothing in arrangement, no clips in session.
i.e. almost the smallest, lightest set you can imagine.
Power cycling the laptop fixed the issue... until next time...
