^ I always liked setting up the nanoKONTROL over the top of the Macbook Trackpad - of course you loose your mouse for the duration of the performance but thats what it's all about!

Setup for a dance theatre show, Allen and Heath ILive console, Live used for playback and effects on live musician's mics and for recording the show. Modul8 on two computers sending visuals to two projectors.

The ILive is being used as a glorified stereo DI Box!! - all the mixing is happening on a Tapco Mix60!!!

^ you ever mess with video input going to hte projectors?
we setup a small projector and visuals at a club on the weekends here in Chicago - the most fun sso far is running the iSight camera into the TRACE effect, with Luma KEY on the layer - basically , you wave glow sticks in front of it and you can paint on the screen with light - it's pretty slick!
http://www.vimeo.com/15260230
This isn't from the club it's a dark room so we could start with black, but if you can get a video feed of the actual light show of the concert running thru some effects it's almost like you don't even need someone or anything to control the visuals - you just let it morph based on whats going on in the space

Absolutely, mon! It's the perfect representation of visual dub, innit? Each iteration a little different from it's predecessor, and the nexus of camera-to-screen-to-subject angle, plus the zoom size etc makes for feedback fun and games!outershpongolia wrote:^ you ever mess with video input going to hte projectors?

Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...

The cat's name is Calypso.
In case you care about the other stuff, there's a Nord G2, an Edrol SD-90 sound module, and a pair of Genelec 6010A monitors. The companion subwoofer doubles as a nice footrest.
Calypso is sitting on a flatbed scanner (Is that what they call a cat scan?); there's a 35mm film scanner on the left edge of the frame.

How are your mixes translating on other systems since u use a sub?
Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
I've been interested so far mostly in live performance, where I have a pretty good idea of the capabilities of the sound reproduction system. So I haven't been concerned so far about how it will sound on tiny speakers. Anyway, here is an example, you can decide for yourself.Rave wrote:I like your cat scan haha.

Meanwhile, I have taken the cat scan idea two steps further. This way, I get to show off all three cats. Snobol is now sitting on the scanner, next to a picture of Munchkin sitting on the scanner, which in turn is next to the original picture of Calypso on the scanner with Live on the screen.

The set/mix sounds nice
I love cats, sadly I am allergic to them

I can’t find anything similar here (Paris, France) and it’s driving me crazy. I looked on the IKEA website and “Conforama”, and for the exact same reference as the picture online but apparently this brand isn’t distributed in France.oblique strategies wrote:I'm referring to the stand that is supporting your RME I/O & laptop. Anyone got an alternative?
This would be pretty neat to put my 25 key midi keyboard directly under my monitor when not in use instead of having to store it somewhere else and plug it in each time I need it (space is at a huge premium here in Paris).
Also here is my puny beginner setup, for your amusement:

How's the Allen and Heath? Please give us a little insight as I cant seem to find too much info, especially on the convertors.
