warping "bug"
warping "bug"
I have loops or tracks which are warped but sometimes the warping is not recognized when I drag/drop the loop or track.
I'm running live 4.1.2.
If I do "new live set" then those same loops or tracks load correctly. It seems like the song gets corrupt and some warping are not read anymore.
So I've got this song, which is the same as the default one that gets loaded when doing "new live set", in which some particular asd are not read.
I'm sending a default set and "corrupt" set and a loop that loads correctly only in the default set to [email protected]

OK, here's a summing up for those interested or if you come across the same problem.
My preferences for loop/warp were set on auto. Therefore when I loaded loops or tracks at a slower speed than the speed detected by warping,
the tracks or loops were loaded unwarped.
For EX my loop is a 1bar @120BPM, loading it in a set whose tempo is 90BPM results in Live loading it unwarped (switching warp on doesn't read the.asd but just reverts to default warping)
@92BPM it loads fine.
Ableton support advised me to set loop/warp preference to "warped loop"
seems to work so far
(it's actually a bummer when you load lots of long tracks that are not warped yet like I just did for a remix, it took ages and warped them automatically and inaccurately)

I'm investigating this bug that isn't one according to the support :
a 1 bar loop @128BPM will be loaded unwarped @97BPM and warped @98BPM
According to the support this is rare, not for me though, I've got tens of loops and tracks only recognized in a narrow range
- I just checked Live 3.0.4 (because i never had those problems before live 4) and all those loops load correctly, even at a tempo of 20 BPM !
So even though I'm told it's not a bug, it certainly is.

the bottom line is this.
Ableton has changed in live 4 the way live detects warping.
so it now works that way :
if you'd warped your tracks and loops in live3 and load them in live 4 at 30BPM slower than original tempo, live ditches the warping.
great .
This is not a bug according to ableton, and there's a very simple thing to do :
load all your loops and tracks (1000's) at the right tempo and save warping.
