Post by [email protected] » Thu Oct 28, 2010 5:49 pm

hey guys, i was wondering what are your methods for using Looper, to keep it so in sync?

right now i'm working on a violin plucking arrangement..

and when i press record to record it. and press play.. it's not perfect.

do you guys have any ideas on what to do so my loops come out smooth?

THANKS FOR READING!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I've built a device in max4live that works on triggering clips instead of using the looper, no matter what i tried with looper it quickly went out of time.....

you have fiddled with the quantization settings in the device??

have fiddled with the quantization, but all of this stuff is still very new to me.

the thing is.. i know what i want to play for my loop in my head.

(very simple)

but how do i know which quantization to use?

if anyone can answer, that would help so much. thank you.

Whichever one feels most natural, it only quantizes the start and end points, you should use it in conjunction with the metronome to get the timing right, or set the tempo control so that when you start and finish your loop the looper changes the tempo of the set to match....

Works great for me..
I have four buttons mapped to play, overdub, stop and rec.

You have to play really tight to avoid the out-of-sync problems. Latency can also cause out-of-sync when looping..

I'm building a guitar amp.
An actual one, not a MAX/Msp one.
So i've been keeping a low profile.
