hey guys,
i recently bought the rme fireface 400, installed the latest drivers/firmware (running winXP SP3)and it works fine with any playback.
the only problem i have is in live. it starts crackling as hell!
rme support center seems not to be aware of such issues, so i continuoued playing around.
the only thing that temporarily solves the crackling is to physically change the output channels from 1/2 to 3/4 and set ableton's master accordingly.
after the next startup i have the same problem.
is there anyone who has similar problems? someone with experience?
thanks in advance!

dell latitude D830
Intel Core 2 Duo, 2,6GHz
3,5 GB RAM
MS WinXP Professional SP 3
RME fireface 400
latest driver (3.0.28.0)
HW revision 1.70
buffer 512 samples
rate 44100 Hz
Ableton 7.0.18
i played around a bit more and what i found was that when setting the windows playback to FireFace 1/2 ableton plays clear audio out of 3/4. Same if i set playback to internal hw (SigmaTel Audio in my case).
can you think of anything to improve my situation?
thanks in advance!

Do you know how to use the total mix from RME?
its a mixer matrix where you can route every input to every output, including software I/O.
just connect the Is/Os where you want to have it.
I think that RME has a very good reference manual.
