Midi delay?
Black MacBook Core Duo, Live 8.2.1, Axiom 49
I have this one session, created in Live 7, now saved as a Live 8 session. Trying to add a new part. Problem is, once I play the session through and then stop... suddenly the input from the Axiom keyboard becomes slightly delayed, so can't be played in time. Open other newer sessions, same delay is retained. Quit, and restart Live. Open that bad session..... keyboard playing now fine again. Play session and stop... whoops now it's delayed again. Quit and open other sessions. No problem. It starts when I play and stop this one certain session. It's only got five midi parts using plug ins and instruments that have no problems in other sessions. Would HATE to re-record this whole session. What could cause a sudden occurrence of delayed midi input only on one particular session?

Re: Midi delay?
Hi, can you try this in a new set and let me know if it happens again?

Re: Midi delay?
Starting with a new session, midi response time from the keyboard is fine. In all my other sessions it's also fine. It's only this one particular session. Once it has been opened and played - then the response time from playing the keyboard is slightly delayed. If I close this bad session and open any other session, the timing stays delayed in these other sessions too. After I quit Live and then re-open Live, the midi delay goes away on all the other sessions. So it only happens when this one session is played, the delay problem stays on all sessions until I quit and re open Live. WEIRD.

Re: Midi delay?
Weird indeed - what plug-ins do you have in this bad session? And how big is the session?

Re: Midi delay?
I've been troubleshooting by running this session with and without certain parts and/or effects. I had two instances of Tone 2 reverb running different effects on aux 1 adn 2. Removed one of them and don't seem to have the problem anymore. So I think I'm okay for now. Thanks, as always, for the fast response.David Abravanel wrote:Weird indeed - what plug-ins do you have in this bad session? And how big is the session?

Re: Midi delay?
Glad you found a solution - were you getting high CPU levels with both of the aux reverb channels enabled? Reverbs can be especially processor-heavy plug-ins.
