I have 2 motu midi express units
and MKS 80 Juno 106 etc
when i try to play notes from the hardware then won't trigger when i hit the nano key.
If i plot them in a clip then it works but i'd like to play stuff in

You want to trigger your synths with the nano ?

Just tested it in Logic and it works on that platform

Do you have the select MIDI tracks either armed to record, or set to Monitor In? You'll need to have one of these setups, so that Live knows to pass MIDI input on to the selected track (and the instruments on the track).

I
Select it to record and can see all the other channels are receiving except the one which it is on.
I select monitor and nothing also

Do you have your USB-MIDI device set up properly? You'll need to make sure you have this set up right, and that you have a track set to be sending MIDI to the hardware.

Not a problem, these are generally not to hard to set up - what USB-MIDI interface do you have? You'll want to make sure that it's plugging in to your USB port and to the MIDI In jack on your synth, and showing up under Preferences->MIDI. You'll then want to make sure that "track" "sync" and "remote" are enabled for the output to the USB-MIDI interface.

Once you have this set up, create a new MIDI track, and enable In/Out view. Set the MIDI for the track to be going out to the USB-MIDI device - you might have to figure out precisely which channel is reaching the parameter you want to control on your synth, depending on the device (the device manual should have more on this).

Lastly, make sure you have audio from the synth going back in to Live - make sure you have the audio interface you're using for this set up under Preferences->Audio. Create a new audio track, arm to record, and you should be set to go.
