How do I DELETE a global recording?! HELP!

Okay. This is cheesing me off. I'm trying to record a mix--but obviously, I need more than one take. When I hit the stop key and then deactivate all my tracks and begin again by hitting the record key, as soon as I press play on my first track, somehow it triggers the previous recording to play over it. I can't find anything that tells me how to delete global recordings. About the only thing I can do is just not save anything, close the program and reopen it for the previous recording to erase and reset.

What do I need to be doing? This is totally doing my head in.

Do you know what arrangement view is? I think they cover it in the manual

Of course I know what 'arrangement view' is. But I don't want to use it, I want to use Session View. And I have read the manual--there isn't a way to do this in Session View?

Hi, to clarify what other users have said here - global recordings are recorded in Arrangement View. If you want to be absolutely sure that you've deleted everything you'd previously recorded, then you'll want to go to Arrangement view and delete what you don't want.

1: This IS a very basic question. I mean VERY
2: He "of course" already knows what Arrangement view is, but...
3: He wants to record an arrangement without using arrangement

Don't worry, I've learned my lesson here. It seems that there are a fair amount of self-important, condescending know-it-alls on this forum and I really don't feel the need to take abuse from people I don't even know or care about. In the future, I'll just message Support directly. FYI: I am a SHE, not a he, which makes this look all the more jerky.

I don't even know what a "troll thread" is. I am a human being who is very new at this. I am not purposefully putting up daft questions just to incite the ire of the forum. I honestly am having trouble with some of these concepts, as elementary as they may be to everyone else, and this reply plus Angstrom's replies are really hurtful and unequivocally rude. I'm sorry that I "wasted your time" as you put it. It won't happen again.

Something else: I am NOT a music producer, I am an amateur DJ who felt limited by the program I atarted with (Mixmeister7) and decided to purchase Live Intro on a recommendation from a friend who uses the full version of Live 8 for his live sets. What I am trying to do is record a good version of the long mix project I've been practicing and upload it to my Mixcloud account. I have never used the Arrangement View as I feel, for my purposes, Session View suits my needs best and is easier to use. This is why I asked the question I did.
