Desperately need VST3 support!
Desperately need VST3 support!
I just bought the new Yamaha Motif XF. The only vst option they have is vst3! The keyboard came with Cubase AI5 but I would much rather continue working solely in Ableton. Why is it so hard to support vst3's??? Also, this should not be an Ableton "9" upgrade but rather an Ableton "8.3.1"!!
Does anyone know of a workaround w/ live and vst3's??????

Re: Desperately need VST3 support!
Same here! I also have the Mo XF and would much prefer continuing to stay with Live.
I really don't want to use Cubase, but the features of running the Editors as a plug within is massively productive.
Live is a great tool for writing.. and just plain have fun! It sure would be nice if someone from Ableton would respond if there are any hopes for this to materialize.
Is there any hope, for Ableton to move to supporting VST3? .. Someone, anyone?

I'm in the same boat with the Motif XF. Need VST3 to use Editor plugin. There is some uncertainty felt about Ableton because they are not being open enough about what to expect down the line.

maybe not...

Re: Desperately need VST3 support!
Is there any other solution (like a wrapper or standalone app) to get the Motif editor running that doesn't require a second DAW along side using Live?
Re: Desperately need VST3 support!
The editor is a standalone app. You must have Yamaha Studio Manager (SM)installed in order to launch the Editor in it. SM is where you will the editor for all hardware that is currently plugged in.
Re: Desperately need VST3 support!
OK, cool I'm going to rack the Motif this week, haven't tried the editor yet.
Then what is the advantage of the VST3 editor if you can just use it standalone?
