Looping points

Post by disco technique » Mon Nov 15, 2010 4:18 am

Hi,

Sometimes when I find a sample (2 bars 4/4, for example) and loop it, the loop might start at beat 7, and so plays 7-8-1-2-3-4-5-6.

Can I shift the loop around so that beat 7 is actually beat 1, and beats 1-6, although before beats 7 & 8, will then be beats 3-8?

Apologies for my poor description of what i'm trying to achieve...

I sometimes use this style of looping in order to 'bypass' the crash that often occurs on beats 1 & 2, or just find that particular loop works better this way.

Thank you Rabalder for your polite response,

Sometimes you need a push in the right direction. Apologies for my absolute laziness -no excuses. Everyone's allowed one RTM response without feeling too much of a twat, right?

Ableton's quite a step up from my beloved MPC2000. Instead of having to work around problems and create mad solutions, i can now do more than i could possibly imagine with audio - 8O

I look forward to using this forum as a resource but will always RTGDFM first!
