Audio Kontrol 1 cue output problem

Post by icedsushi » Mon Nov 15, 2010 3:34 pm

On the master channel in Live, I have main selected as 1-2. Cue is selected as 3-4.

Headphones output switch on the Audio Kontrol is set to 3-4.

But when I hit the headphones (cue) button on a track in Live, the color of the levels changes, but all the audio from all the tracks is still coming out of outputs 1-2 to the main speakers, as if nothing has changed. The cued track isn't muted from the mains & I'm getting all the tracks in my headphones as well, no matter what cue buttons I select.

Not sure if I'm missing a setting in Live or on the Audio Kontrol. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

On the master channel or hardware knobs? I'm getting sound of everything as normal. Problem is nothing is muted at the main output when a track's cue button is activated.

Hi, the color of the levels changes to let you know that the track is also going out of the cue - having the fader up will still have the track play out of the Master out. In order to cue a track without having it go out the Master out, you'll need to have the fader all the way down. To control the cue volume, use the knob with the headphone icon next to it on the Master track.

Thanks, was the behavior always this way? I seem to remember in a previous version of Live, the cued track being muted even with the fader up, but I could be wrong.

I'm thinking why it really needs to be this way. It offers more flexibility? Pulling the fader down after activating the cue button seems like an extra step to do the same thing.

I stumbled on this searching for an answer to a slightly different issue.

You need to assign the channels to either A or B on the crossfader. then move the crossfader all the way across to A side. you can then have channel B's fader up as normal, hit the cue button but it won't come through the master output until you move the cross fader across to the B side.
