I am a new user to Abelton and not getting on too well. I have been recording for many years using 4 & 8-Track (Analogue & Digital) and recently decided to upgrade to a PC based system.
My sound card is SB Audigy Platinum (bout 3-4 years old now) and have been using it to route the ext 8-track for recording to cd. Everything works ok in that department.
The current settings are as follows:-
'Audio from' is set to 'Ext In' and I have identified channels 3/4 as the input. First stage sorted!
Problems start when routing the signal.
If I use 'Monitor' on 'Auto', route the 'Audio to' to 'Monitor' then arm the track (record) and activate a clip to record the input the system feedsback on its self.
If I do exactly the same but route the 'Audio to' to 'Sends only' the problem dissapears.
Next problem occurs when recording a new clip. Can you record a new clip whilst playing along with pre-recorded clips without adding the old clips into the new one?
I am sure this can be done but I just have not worked it out yet.
