Ableton app for Android?

Post by purpurkatten » Thu Nov 18, 2010 9:49 pm

If I get an HTC with Android, is there any app that lets me control Ableton Live?

Thanks

Hello,
there isn't a specific app for that.
But you can use androidome by Ewan: http://www.ewanhemingway.co.uk/programming/androidome
it works fine
it is a good start but I guess he doesn't develop it anymore.

If you code in java, it could be easy to make it more dynamic.

Imagine the uproar from some people round here if Ableton released a dedicated app for android, and not iphones/ipads.

Please do it.

People (not ableton) already began to develop that.
Be patient :)

If things are to be believed the Android OS will be more popular than iOS based on quantity over quality. Nothing new there in the world of Apple vs. competitors. But as it is now not all Android apps work on all Android devices. I doubt Ableton would want to deal with that horseshit.

Guys, Ableton focuses on on other stuff.
and you have to know with OSC + android, we can already make A LOT of controls/feedback.
Ok, it is a bit for geeks like me.
Personnally, with Design the Media, I don't focus on multitouch, but we're designing an hardware stuff that will kill a lot in few months :)

Pleeeeaaaaaase... Pleeeeeaaaaase!!! Oh it would be marvelous indeed. LSZ would surely lead the charge. it'd be better than when they discovered the APC40 cost more in Euros than it does in US Dollars. way better.

Great. An Android app from Ableton is all we need.

One guy manages to get it working whilst the 132 other asswipes who didn't buy iPhones get to endlessly post their issues and blame Ableton for the fact that their shitty CostCo/Wal-Mart Droid doesn't seem to want to connect.

I came for the
But stayed for the :x

I got it up and running (with all the different presets) on Droid Incredible. It was relatively quick to set up using the Iphone to Windows instructions (15 minutes to setup and test). I am not familiar with TouchOSC so I will have to mess with it a bit before I say there are any bugs... I have noticed the the midi keyboard seem to rapidly repeat notes instead of holding notes when a note is held down.

Oh, and Iphone users are some serious haters..... ..... :?

Willyum - are you using Live for Win or OSX? What are you using to translate OSC from touchOSC to Live? I'm finding that the Android/Windows combination is a bit elusive . . . my brain might be short-circuting somewhere, but I can't seem to connect the dots here, have tried w/ glovePIE, LiveOSC/Live Control . . . no luck. Wondering what you did to have success in 15 minutes!

Thanks in advance . . . happy holidays!

And yeah, what's with the mac snobbery around here . . . last time i was here, Live wasn't even mac compatible! :)
