Cubase / Live - sync in brrrrpppp!!!!

Post by polar_action » Tue May 10, 2005 12:40 pm

Live is synced to Cubase 2 and looping. When the sound returns to the start of the loop i hear a strange blip.. brrrrrpp. ....and my "sync in" indicator flashes.

Any clues how i get rid of this.

Thnx in advance.

What's your setup? Laptop and soundcard? What's your latency setting? These might help provide some answers.

I have a Sager 5690 laptop with the RME Cardbus. I've done some extensive research and found that my PCMCIA bus sometimes provides these kinds of burps. So it could be a number of things that might cause your issues.

Hyperthreading is another tidbit that can cause this problem.

I've found that the tempo becomes unstable when syncing Ableton to Cubase:

Wow, I've never had that problem. In fact, just to see if I could do it, I had Live, Acid Pro, Reason, ReBirth, P5, and Storm all ReWired into Cubase SX 3. It worked pretty good. It sounded crappy with all that stuff playing at the same time, but it worked.

Maybe they fixed it in SX 3?
I was using SX 2.

I believe that little blip sound has to do with SX's global latency compensation, and no it's not fixed in SX3.
