New in Live and problems with MIDI

Post by Leoespejo » Wed Oct 13, 2010 7:36 am

I have PC core 2 Quad with Win XP, and Maschine (NI), APC 40 and Edirol FA 101 (Fireware). The problem is that I can play midi instruments for a while, but sometimes not always if i touch any fader or control of APC 40 sudenly i can't here any sound. The software still receives midi signals, but there's no sound. I have my APC 40 configured as my control surface and my soundcard (edirol FA 101) selected as the "midi in" device.

Please Help me

Why are you using the Edirol as a MIDI in device? Do you have any parameters on the Edirol mapped to controls in Live? Both APC40 and Maschine can connect through USB, without the use of a MIDI-USB converter.

David maybe i didn't explain correctly. I'm using the Edirol FA 101 to connect my MIDI keyboard, an old Roland controler that works perfectly with Cubase 5. APC 40 and Maschine are conected via USB directly to the PC. And the problem repeats all the time. I can play for 3 or 4 minuts, sometimes less, then MIDI stops, Live is receiving MIDI but the track doesn't receive any MIDI messeage. If i go to config window and change Direct Music to MME, sometimes, only sometimes, it turns to work, but ones again only for a while then stops again . Really i can't work this way.

Help Please.!!!!

Well, I'have writen to the Tecchnical Support tree weeks ago, and there's no answer. Wath does it means, that there's no solution for my problem?, that there's no support for my system? or that Ableton's Tecchnical support sucks?. I bought Live because i thougth it was a serious company and it had a nice support for proffesionals, but maybe i was wrong, i hope not.

Skechy, Sorry, but is good to know I'm not the only one with this problem. I don't have any tips by the moment but if I found something I'll let you know. But please do something: When the issue repeats make an "Status Report" and send it to Ableton Support explaining your problem and your configuration, do this as many times as you can. Maybe if they see that this is a repeated problem they'll work harder on it.

Is something like: electronic musicians of the world unite....!!!
