Time to call in the cavalry...
I removed a large sample library because my hard drive was getting a bit crammed. Now I'm revisiting an old project and there are three missing samples.
I pulled the exact samples from my other hard drive and have them sitting happily in a folder on my desktop. But Ableton won't let me designate them as the correct files. Automatic search is no help and even when I try and drag and drop the new file onto the missing one it won't let me do it (even though the manual states that it WILL allow me to do so even if I introduce a file that's different to the original).
Can anyone help? I'm stumped on this one.

does it say that they are corrupt? - if so, install (or try reinstalling) quicktime...

Had this problem in 8.1.3 , not sure about now haven't experienced it.PLacidBasilisk wrote:It doesn't say anything it just won't let me drag and drop
basically, I should be able to rename files in the browser and they would update in my live set, sometimes this would go wacky and the file wouldn't get renamed, and my clip in live set would go grey.. so I would try to drag and drop into the clip, and it wouldn't redirect the file name.. even when re-dragging the clip on top of itself wouldn't work, I would have to delete the clip and then drag it in
