So Ideally I would like to use Ableton's Arpeggiator with a couple soft synths instead of the internal arp in the soft synth. It would make it easier to trigger with a midi foot controller (on/off arp) and I like the controls on it. The only problem is that when using the Ableton arp the sustain pedal just sustains the notes after the arp and you still have to hold down the keys. I want to be able to let go of the keys while holding the pedal and still have the arp go, just like if I were to turn it on within the synth and hold down the sustain pedal. Kind of hard to explain, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Zac
Arpeggiator/Sustain Pedal question.
Re: Arpeggiator/Sustain Pedal question.
I just tried it and it works if you map both the Arp ON/OFF button AND the HOLD button to the pedal.
HOLD is what keeps it going while the pedal is down. When you let the pedal go the synth just works as normal.

Re: Arpeggiator/Sustain Pedal question.
Yeah! That totally solves that problem. But... it created a new one. Now the sustain pedal no longer functions as sustain for any other soft synths.

Yeah, I figured that would be a problem.
I don't know if there's a way to work around that.
