problem with midi-cc

Post by audio/fault » Sun Nov 28, 2010 3:12 pm

hi,

is there a way to tell live directly which midi-cc should control which knob/fader?
the problem is, that i want to use my kaosspad 1 as a midi-controller. it sends 2 midi-cc at one time (pitchbend on the x-axis and modwheel on th y-axis).
in midi-map-mode live recognizes both midi-cc and pitchbend wins... ;)
so i like to assign the modwheel-cc to cutoff (of a filter) and pitchbend-cc to resonance by hand.
at the moment i'm using the live apc-edition (latest update).

hope i could make my problem clear and somebody has a solution for this (i'm new too live, but couldn't find something inside the manual). thx.

greetz, andreas.

you can't add them yourself, but in midi map mode you can click in the list and 'undo' through the received cc's.

Try an UNDO .. I remember with X/Y pads, the X or Y would get mapped but then ultimately the Z control would be the last message sent, a simple UNDO would bring me back to the X or Y depending on which way I was swiping the pad - so maybe if you try to map it, and it goes to the wrong one hit UNDO and see if it will revert to the right thing..

if not, I know TOM COSM made a utility that would send MIDI CC's on specific channels so you could map things out without having them in front of you, or for this reason, X/Y pads..

cheers
