Yeah, we should have had an "haven't heard anything sasha-related" option. I've never heard his music. A friend of mine borrowed me a disc of him...I still haven't heard it...

Oh and I too find that trance hands up / build up quite ridiculous...Not my thing.
Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.

Actually, it is a well documented fact that he blatantly ripped someone off and I think it was someone who sent a demo into Future Music. I would have to dig through my old issues of Future Music to give specific details and right now I can't be bothered.

Anyway, why spend time worshipping and idolizing another human being (JUST LIKE YOU) instead of doing your own thing?

That's the point, I think.

All this nasty Sasha comments are nothing to do with his music or DJ abilities. It has everything to do with the fact that he uses Ableton Live!

Why he is hated on this forum because of his use of Live is a mystery to me.

Please do give the details. After all you just wrote complete rubbish but it will be interesting to see what you come up with.

because "hating on sasha even if you dont actually know what he does" is the new black on the ableton forum.

because too many people are sheep, that need to focus on something and hate on it/them in order to have a false "sense of bonding" on an internet forum.

so they can feel part of the 'cool' group that is anti commercial. to actually make an informed independent opinion and share it with the board wouldnt endear them to the percieved majority.

:) board psychology is so transparent. and ...sad .. really ..

you learn alot about human nature that is disheartening.

Well, you will have to give me a bit of time. I have to go through a lot of magazines and right now and in the next few days I have too many other things to do that are far more worthy of my time. But I will definitely track down the story. Just hang in there.

from sasha's website:

It's because of what he can do with music - the way he can make good records sound better, great records sound awesome, and everything he plays into his own. The way his mixes take elements from across the spectrum of electronic dance, from TRANCE, breaks, progressive and deep house, and create a languidly hypnotic liquid groove.

he doesn't play trance i have been to see him about 6 times in the past year and its not trance, its melodic prog. He has nothing to do with the website he has actually said that in an interview. Its his PR staff at it again, making him sound better by saying he plays every fuckin type of sub genre, genre possible. I'm not even a big sasha fan tbh more a danny howells sander kleinenberg person. Any way this is boring me now al leave you girls to argue into the night about it

Sigh, I would have to say I'm actually a little jelous of him... before the Live shenannagins.

I dont hate the guy, because I've never met him. I find it very hard to judge someone from newspaper clippings and shoddy press releases :)

But I do get a sadistic funny laugh when I see people writing "Did you know that Sasha invented MIDI?!" and other things like that... see! Im laughing at it right now. Maybe because i have a warped sense of humor.
