This little buddy is the only reason I ever press TAB and switch over to session view, is there any way to get it in arrangement mode? I did a search and found nothing....

It's annoying how many of the track controls they either crammed into or omitted from arrange view, which should be the more detailed and accessible of the two, all in the name of a single window interface.

To that end alternative DAW developers owe them a thanks for inspiring many of us to go the 2 or more DAW route.

I agree, Live would benefit from the two views sharing more information & controls.

For example: expanding a track with the Mixer section visible should show the names of the Sends: A, B, C, etc. So much wasted space. I have sessions that use all 12 Sends, & would benefit from being able to see the distinctions at a glance.

I'd also like to be able to toggle the Arrangement Send indicators between the default rectangle with numerical data & Send "knobs" that are in the Session view.

Can't you just widen the track?

If you are answering me: widening the track does not show the Send names. Nor does it show a peak meter.

It shows a whole lot of wasted space though!

Sorry. I misunderstood the OP. This is what I meant by widening the track in the Session View.

I 'spose it's like this as the session view is where the main part of the process mixing takes place... And the arrangement view is where well..... the arranging gets done.. It can be a pain at times switching back and forth.... Th main reason I keep going back to session view is to locate the red box from my APC40

Live needs detechable session view window - so you have have session view/mixer on one window and arrange view in another (each on their own screen) - this IMHO would be THE killer feature for live 9, dont care what else they do - but this is numero uno for me.

Who still uses only one monitor anyway except on a laptop?

^ i have 2 monitors and i'm only using one now that i use Live primarily. its the only thing that i really truly miss about Cubase... the floating mixer... ah... just thinking about it makes me happier and then i remember i don't use it any more, i use Live :x

please Abes. please. i won't ask for a good reverb anymore if you'll give me a floating mixer. pluggs solve a lot of... err, um, shortcomings, but there's no mixer pluggs that i know of.

OK, so now were getting a little OT, but one thing I allways thought was missing from the general DAW plugin architecture was a plugin mixer, just think if say the SSL 9K mixer from Record, (or a good simulation of a TL Audio tube console etc) was available as a mixer plugin for whatever VST/AU DAW you used :)

I'd vote for a detachable mixing console - free floating; either in session or arrangement view.

And the funiest thing is that if you have lots of tracks and you select one in arrange view and then press tab to get access to the fader that track is not necessarily shown. Sometimes you have to scroll for the track again. In Logic for example there was always a link between the selections in all windows.
