Live only recording on ins 1 &2, why cant I get 3&4 to rec?

Cant get any Audio at all from my synth plugged into jacks 3 & 4 on my Audio Fire 4 interface. I get sound when monitoring the MIDI channel but nothing in either an Audio or Ext. Instrument channel (I tried both).

Its showing up just fine on the AudioFire console software but not in Ableton. Whats up?

I have it set up as follows:

Preferences > Audio Input Device > Analog in 1-4 (Audio Fire) DX

Audio Output Device Analog out 1-4 (AudioFire 4)DX

In the individual track I have the options of 1, 2 or 1/2 under Ext. In. Choosing any of those makes no diffence.

I'm not getting any volume level no matter what I do.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong or where the breakdown might be occuring?

Did you turn the inputs on in the channel configuration in audio preferences? Easy to forget that.

Under "input config"? Yes, both are yellow/enabled. doesnt help.

does dx even support multichannel recording? Have you tried switching to ASIO?

which Live version do you have? Intro and LE versions only support 1/2
