How can I get my Midi editor to play notes as I click the ke

Post by Halycon » Tue Dec 07, 2010 12:16 am

Okay, so Ive seen other users of Ableton be able to click a note on the midi editor, and it then plays the key/note/sound of that note while they are in there editing their midi. I however, have NEVER had this in ANY versions of my Live, and assumed that this had to be a setting that was engaged. Much to my dismay, I looked through all the Preferences and found nothing. How can I preview the midi note in the editor without starting and playing the sequence? Thanks so much for the help as usual guys. Best

hahaha,

Yep, the little headset icon thingy...

But also, a recommendation is (set the loopbar) on whatever area you're working on.

Make the adjustments to the midi notes and keep hitting space bar to play and pause and restart, so you can quick punch together a melody.

Also, right click to change to the grid, also, you can intentionally make things offbeat by turning off the draw/snap to grid.

Let me know if you need any help ^_^
