Where is my grid on the session view???????

help.just bought copy of Live 4.0.3. In the Session view, i only have vertical colomns going down Example. Audio 1.audio 2 Midi 1 Midi 2 etc. But there are no horizontal lines going across. This means there is no grid in which i can place clips. I have checked the clip view button, i have ticked clip view in the pull down menu, i cant drag a clip over to the session grid because there isn't one. In the arranger i can use this fine, if i then play a sequence of loops and tab over to the session view, i see the audio in the mixer levels, but there are no clips shown ( because there is no grid in which to put the clips.) please help..... I have this same problem with Live 4, any ideas? My clips/scenes are not present in session view.

Any help would be appreciated.

First things first: update your Live to version 4.1.4.
