Copy clip envelopes in session view.....
Copy clip envelopes in session view.....
.....is this possible - I can't see an option for it - I just want to copy the envelope without the audio file so I can use the same settings on another sound - thanks!

Either that or I have gone mad - if so please point me to the relevant post - because its not in my previous posts........ I did post about recording automation...... but this is different - I just want to copy the clip envelope settings...

Re: Copy clip envelopes in session view.....
clic on shelLuser link, i indeed pointed you to a post that had the answer.
select all the automation in arrange, righ clic and choose copy enveloppe, go to the clip in session, find the same parameter
enveloppe modulation and right clic/paste envelope.

Re: Copy clip envelopes in session view.....
Hi & thanks - think this is what the mixup is - I didn't mean automating eg just if I have drawn an volume pattern or similar in session clip to be able to copy same - I have to copy it from arrangement not session?
Thanks for your perserverance!

Re: Copy clip envelopes in session view.....
Can you not just copy the clip and then swap the sample that's in it? I've not tried it but I think the envelopes will be retained and will just be applied to the new sample.

at jeep:
you can use "copy enveloppe" then use paste on another parameter, being in session or arrange booth will work

Re: Copy clip envelopes in session view.....
i think i figured this out.
it is a bit complex, but doable.
you have to copy the clip with the desired envelope into the track with the instrument that you want to apply it to.
in that same track you have to have a clip of the waveform that you want for that instrument to play as well.
copy them both to the arrangement, then consolidate and copy them back as one clip into the session.
then go into the clip properties and unlink the envelope (which will allow you to move it without moving the audio info)
then drag it over to the desired section of the wave form, then cut out all the extra audio info using the start and end and loop points.
i haven't tried it, but theoretically, it should work unless it doesn't copy the clip envelop to the arrangement.
also i don't see "copy envelope" anywhere in any control menus.
