Session View MIDI Consolidate

Post by Deimateos » Sat Dec 11, 2010 8:33 pm

I know this has been covered in a few ways already, but I think this is a simple way to introduce the idea to Live, and should be pretty easy to code versus some of the other wishes in this area. It goes something like this:

1.You've recorded all your clips and now you want them to be one larger clip.

2. Arrange the clips, one over another and select them all, like so.

3. Right/Command Click, Click consolidate.

4. Bam! Consolidated sexy time.

This would be extremely useful for comping a melody quickly, and opening up space for more clips (something I think users of the APC40, Launchpad, Griid and TouchABLE would appreciate). Sure this means you have use your mouse/touchpad for a second, but that's fine, because comping clips really isn't something you'd do live anyway (Although if you do, for some reason, this would still help you if you're a Session view purist). :)

+1 for this idea

I'm sick of bringing clips from session into arrange view and then back, just to consolidate them into once compiled clip.

Actually, while we're at it--- Why can't I even consolidate a single clip in Session View!? Sometimes this is nice to permanently set the clip data (warping, envelopes) into the clip.
