Axiom Midi programming question

Hello all -- I', a guitarist, very new to MIDI, to apologies for the basic question (and yeah I did crack the manual).

I'd like to program the soft pads on my Axiom Pro 61 to trigger the drum kit in Impulse. Would any kind soul be able to tell me how I would go about doing that? I assume I need to assign some MIDI CC note or whatever to the pad; I just have no idea what, or where to begin to look to find this helpful information.
