Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
recalling mastering rack presets with clips is awesome! .. now I've got an audio effect rack on my master channel that I can "master" my tunes with in each one of my projects - then when I play my tracks in the performance template a clyphx clip will recall the specific tweaks to the mastering rack per that specific song.. couldn't get easier - lol
Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
hi, just discovered this awesome script that looks really promising!
One thing i'm trying to do understand is if i can mix the actions.
What i'd like to have is this:
play clip 1 of track 1 from start marker 1.2
play clip 2 of track 1 from start marker 1.3
play clip 3 of track 1 from start marker 1.2
and so on…
Is this possible?
What string should i put?
Thanks!
edit:
I almost got it with the track clip cue action...unfortunately i can only
automate the start marker of one clip at time. I wish i could use multiple istances!

Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
This is by far the best script/aid made by an Ableton user I've seen. Good work!!
It feels like Ableton 8.5 or something.
It's so much quicker and intuitive than M4L for getting api stuff done.
Is it possible to select the blue hand on a device and lock it do a surface? That would be cool.
Oh an I assume access to devices in a rack is not possible because of the api limitation right?
PS I love that you can managed to control looper. I was having no look controlling the play and record states with dummy clips and so have never used looper. Now I can

Not sure if this helps, but this is 1 of his other scripts...barstu wrote:Oh an I assume access to devices in a rack is not possible because of the api limitation right?

Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
You can operate on multiple clips, but only one per track. If I understand you correctly, you could do what you’re looking for by first selecting or playing the clip you want to operate on like this ‘1/SEL 1 ; 1/CLIP CUE 2’ or ‘1/PLAY 2 ; 1/CLIP CUE 3.5’. I’ll look into adding the ability to override the current clip selection method so that you can specify a particular slot to operate on instead of having to select/play it first.I almost got it with the track clip cue action...unfortunately i can only
automate the start marker of one clip at time. I wish i could use multiple istances!
It’s possible to move the blue hand via Dev Left/Right, but I’m not sure about locking other control surfaces to devices. I’ll look into this.Is it possible to select the blue hand on a device and lock it do a surface? That would be cool.
You can’t directly operate on a device in a rack (like ‘SEL/DEV2 ON’), but you can operate on any device that’s selected whether it’s in a rack or not with ‘SEL/DEV ON’.Oh an I assume access to devices in a rack is not possible because of the api limitation right?

Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
A new beta version of ClyphX is available that adds a variety of new capabilities including X-Clips on any track, the ability to trigger actions from locators and the ability to trigger actions directly from MIDI controllers (no need to launch X-Clips).

Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
Hi thanks for the info
And update. Is it possible to trigger a slot relative to the clyphxs clip position? From what I can tell if I fire say track 3 the clip present in whatever row is selected is fired. So I am now explicitly stating which row I want fired with an index value. It would be nice to be able to say fire the clip in the same row as this clyphx in track 3. Or even the same row + 1.

You guys have great ideas. I bought some of your APC40 scripts and they've already helped a lot, and by the looks of the demo video, this will spare me a lot of workarounds on stage.
Please carry on with what you're doing, I love it.

Re: ClyphX – simple (and free), Clip-based scripting language
^^Thanks for the motivation and good to hear you’re enjoying the apC Series.
Yes, PLAY < and PLAY > will launch the previous/next clip relative to the X-Clip. There is no action to launch clips on relative tracks. I’ll give that some thought though and see if an option can be worked in.Is it possible to trigger a slot relative to the clyphxs clip position?

thanks a bunch !
clyphx is already a part of my default template!
p.s. +1 for the 'relative' x-clip action

This kicks all sorts of ASS! I feel like I just got a major Update for Live.
Thanks so much. Of course a video would come in handy, HOWEVER the documentation you've provided is fantastic and much appreciated.

If I could get just a few special features out of ClyphX I would never open M4L again. At this point ClyphX and the APC64_40 script has almost given me everything I wanted in M4L.
