How do you guys setup up your effects for performances

So I'm a guitarist who uses ableton to heavily process loops. I was wondering what the best way to go about setting up effects racks and such. I'll probably be using a return track just so I can use the same effects on any track I'd like. I'm just looking for something flexible so I can mix and match whenever and whatever I want.

There is no best way.. Just a lot of different ways.
Using return tracks is one of them.
I personally use return tracks. 3 clip-tracks with 9 returns in total.

What's your outboard/hardware setup and (assuming you're talking about guitar loops) what might be a typical looping situation for you?
