Navigating Session View with Midi Foot controller FCB1010

Post by subboy » Sat Dec 18, 2010 12:40 pm

Is it possible to navigate the cellular structure in the session view with a foot controller. I know you can midi map UP and DOWN to the foot peddles, but, this seems to be restricted to the Scenes. I want more flexibility. I want to be able to navigate the session cells in much the same way you can do with the APC40 or the Lauchpad, but with a foot peddle. I know I won't be able to just select specific cell as you can with the mentioned controllers, I just need a LEFT,RIGHT,UP DOWN buttons to navigate around the cells. If anyone knows if this is possible then please let me know. Cheers!!

I use the FCB1010 and I use the 00 layer for navigation and one looper. To do it, you just set up midi preferences to use Mackie Control. This lets Live think that your FCB1010 is actually a Mackie Controller that has cool features that include up/down/left/right and clip and scene launch buttons, focus swap from session to clip, and so on.

You need to know what to program the FCB1010 to make this work. Search this forum for Mackie Control emulation and there will be a listing of CC's that control various mackie functions. Program those CC's into your FBC101, and she'll start right up.

You can still use any other programming on the FCB1010- even on the same layer. I have the looper multibutton programmed to one button, along with the Mackie Emulation direction buttons all on the first layer.

It works great, no bomes, all native to Live.

Peace
