Feedback (like delay) effects to themselves, problem/bug?

Post by emch » Fri May 27, 2005 3:59 pm

While it's possible in Live to send an effect back to itself by turning up the send knob on that effect channel, I find that when you turn that send up it cuts out delayed echo repeats until you turn it past about 90%, 100 out of 127 in midi speak.

What's up with that? Is that a bug or a safety feature to avoid too much feedback? It's really a pain because if you're trying to get more feedback from the delay, you end up cutting it out altogether until the knob is cranked past midi 100. I don't understand why this would be made this way. Any thoughts?

make sure all feedback is turned down on the effect before using the chanel send for feedback.

I have never experienced this thing you describe though - and I often use delay this way.
