A way to get separate dry/wet? (like Fabfilter plugins)

Post by BarryFell » Thu Dec 16, 2010 10:25 pm

Is there a way I can make a rack or route Live up so I can get separate dry and wet controls for an effect?

I love Fabfilter's separate dry and wet knobs (as pictured below on Timeless2) and would love to be able to do this on other effects.

use in a rack, create one chain with fx 100% wet and then create another chain without any fx. Then use chain volumes as your separate dry and wet controls.

Thanks for your help but that won't recreate what i'm looking for. It will also create issues with amplitude on the dry signal.

What i'm looking for is a wet signal minus any dry signal. Which in the case of what can be done with seperate dry and wet knobs like on Fabfilter plugins is not the same as a dry/wet control on most other effects.

Fabfilter's dry 100% + wet 0-100% is what you usually get on other effects on a normal dry/wet knob, but Fabfilter's dry at 0% and wet at 0-100% is what i'm looking to recreate.

I was thinking along the lines of using invert in a chain to duck the dry signal to just leave the wet but i've not been able to get it working yet.

Nobody any idea? Surprising...

I guess maybe it just can't be done.

Every effect with a dry/wet control that I have ever used goes from 0% wet/100% dry to 100% wet/0% dry. you should be able to get the result you want by setting to 100% wet and then controlling the track volume. or use a rack as suggested by am.

Are you talking about a general problem or a specific effect?
